Lindy Hop is a dance done with a partner, that evolved out of The Charleston in the late 1920s. It flourished in the Swing Era of the 1930s and 40s. Lindy Hop is an African-American artform that spread from the ballrooms of Harlem, New York, across the United States and to the rest of the world. It was sometimes called The Jitterbug.
